Dave Mustaine & James Hetfield

Megadeth and Metallica have been trying to out do eachother for years. Dave Mustaine was an Ex-Metallica guitarist, and made Megadeth after being kicked out of metallica.

MEGADETH – As one of the most commercially successful heavy metal bands of all time, Megadeth has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, including five consecutive platinum albums, with seven consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance.

METALLICA -They have become one of the most commercially successful musical acts of the recent decades, with more than 90 million albums sold worldwide, including 57 million albums sold in the United States. They are considered to be the heavy metal icons.

Both these bands have made a mark in the metal industry. Which of these bands according to you is better ?

Metallica have been writing new material for the follow up to 2003’s St. Anger. St. Anger, the first studio album in 6 years since Reload went to #1 in numerous countries but suffered back-lash from fans who felt as though the “Metallica sound” had disappeared. The new song clocks in at 9 minutes and 37 seconds, including Hetfield’s intro. Fans will be glad to know that there is a solo.

I found these videos of The New Song and The Other New Song. The first one is brilliant, the second one is…well..a little punk-rock? I mean its okay if its just this one song, but I hope that the rest of the album is more like the first. This was sometime in September 2006, and they even announced that it’s gonna be in the next album so I think these are two that we’ll be hearing for sure…Anyway…Let me know what you people think…

They can play faster, sound rougher, take an extended hiatus, and even lose a longtime member, and still Metallica can’t seem to do any wrong in the eyes of their fans. They are comin back with their new album this year. Though St. Anger wasnt appreciated much by the Metallica fans, I believe they still have what it takes to be an icon in the heavy metal industry. What do you think the new album will sound like ?
